Overview
This week our students through manipulatives will be able to tangibly master strategies to implement math on a daily basis. From looking at how sharing with friends can relate to adding and subtracting, or how fractions are involved in cooking, to how area and perimeter relate to them building with LEGOS. Every part of our lives can include math, as such, we want children to enjoy the process and feel the drive to apply strategies to everything they do. Whoever said math is hard and boring is wrong!
How MATH Camp works.
In this camp students develop their number sense, to show and understand that numbers are all around them. They learn about the 5 habits of mind, that will allow them to be flexible thinkers. Each day we explore a different topic, during class we use videos, manipulatives, and pictures so students can visualize the strategy of the day. Through age appropriate equations, we can see our students' understanding of strategies taught during the week.
POWER DANCE! We take a brain break, by dancing we take a moment to be silly, share, laugh and most importantly enjoy some more.
Art helps develop motor skills, make innovative decisions. Each day children will work on an art project related to what they learned that day. For this we recommend to always have basic arts and crafts kits at home, this kit can include: markers, white pages, scissors, glue, pencils, glue and construction paper.

“Alexandra y Gema were my child's online camp teachers. Truth be told he was very engaged and enjoyed the courses and camps. They were so helpful and a great support during the pandemic. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart and congratulations for your wonderful dedication.” Carola Casanova, Weston, Fl
